Having surgery in your country can make you feel anxious, and when you need to travel abroad it might make you even more anxious. Daily hundreds of people are travelling abroad for medical care.
There are multiple reasons and one of them is specialist care. Endometriosis is a disease that requires excision surgery and unfortunately there are not many doctors dedicated to endometriosis surgery around the world.
India is a well-known country for medical tourism. Our team has seen patients from various countries and we are able to handle various gynaecology health issues. We work closely with the Apollo Hospital International Department team, to make sure that we provide you with all the support you need.
Visa requirements
All patients travelling to India for medical treatment require a visa. Please contact the Indian embassy in your country/city and enquire about visa requirements. Do let us know if you need anything from us.
Passport/travel documents
Please make sure your travel documents are up to date before booking your surgery. Based on the country you are coming from, to avoid problems at immigration, make sure your passport has at least 6 months before it expires from your date of entry into India. India has a number of visa categories. Make sure you get the right visa for the purpose and duration of your travel.
Travel insurance
Although travel insurance is not compulsory, it is recommended to have it in case there are delays in your visit and/or care.
Vaccinations
Anyone travelling to India should ensure that they are up-to-date with Routine Vaccinations and any other medical safety requirements.
